David Beaumont to support strategic growth at Stephens Scown

With over 30 years’ experience in corporate banking, leading large regional teams to meet the needs of SME and Mid Corporate clients, David Beaumont has joined leading South West law firm, Stephens Scown LLP as Strategic Growth Consultant.

Initially tasked with helping Stephens Scown to turbo-boost its growth aspirations in Somerset and beyond, with the Firm having just opened a new office in Taunton, he will also support the delivery of its wider strategic goals.
In addition, David will help to maintain the Firm’s strong Cornwall client base, where it was first founded in 1938, and further strengthen its standing in the Devon marketplace.

David says: “Having taken early retirement from Lloyds Bank in 2022, I was keen to find new opportunities to share the extensive knowledge I have gained while working with South West businesses to support their growth aspirations, and build a portfolio of activity through Non- Executive Director roles and business support / mentoring, including consultancy projects.

“I have had a long and close working relationship with Stephens Scown over the years, and have always valued the interactions with several key personnel, such as Managing Partner, Richard Baker, and so when he asked me to help with driving the Firm’s strategic goals, it was a simple decision.”

David adds: “Commercially, this is a very exciting time for Stephens Scown, with the opportunities to build on the heritage of the Firm in new territories. However, it’s about more than that, it’s about making a difference and working with people you admire and who have a purpose to doing business differently. Combined with its employee-owned and B Corp™ status, this makes Stephens Scown a regional heavyweight to be reckoned with in the legal sector and I look forward to all we can achieve together.”

Alongside David’s new role at Stephens Scown, he also takes up his role once more as a Non-Executive Director at South West Investment Group Ltd, the largest provider on complementary loan finance to SMEs in the South West.
