Cornwall Healthy Workplace Programme is a quality mark of health and wellbeing in the workplace and is fully funded by Public Health. The scheme won the National Royal Society of Public Health - Health & Wellbeing Award and got the maximum 3 year accreditation. The award (toolkit/framework) follows all NICE guidance and HSE Management standards and aims to recognise good practice within any organisation across Cornwall focussing on the health and wellbeing of staff and help identify areas for improvement.
We also offer a Bronze, Silver & Gold Award Levels, plus a ‘Mentor Award’ for workplaces who have achieved Gold Standard. It is worth looking through the award criteria as hopefully it will give you a guide as to good practice, will help highlight all the things are already doing well and maybe some new areas to focus on.
We provide a lot of free help and support via training and workshops such as our 12 week Healthy Weight Programme, stop smoking support, access to physical activity opportunities working in partnership with Cornwall Sports Partnership e.g. the annual Cornwall Beach Games and also access to 10% discount with Better Gyms, etc. Please visit: www.behealthyatwork.org/what-we-do for more information. In addition to this, we hold our annual Healthy Workplace Conference and Award Ceremony which takes place in February/March, plus other opportunities throughout the year to network with other like-minded workplaces such as our biannual Workplace Health Business Forums (May & November) which are hosted within local workplaces, signed up to our programme.
