About Us

Cornwall Hugs Grenfell was founded in response to the Grenfell Tower Fire with a simple vision: to offer respite and healing to those affected, through connection to the natural world. To date, this award-winning work has provided 499 respite holidays in Cornwall to survivors, bereaved families and firefighters.

None of this would have been possible without the response of 1000’s of individuals and 100’s of organisations (many of whom, Chamber members), who enthusiastically backed our vision. These include the Eden Project, RNLI, the National Trust, Cornwall Council, Truro Cathedral Choir and GWR, to name just a few.

During Covid, Cornwall Hugs offered emergency isolation accommodation to care-workers to enable them to continue their vital work on the front-line without endangering their families. In this we were similarly supported by local businesses and accommodation providers.

Cornwall Hugs is an example of Cornwall’s phenomenal community compassion - binding together businesses and individuals from many diverse backgrounds in a common endeavour. We continue to support Grenfell and to enjoy the lasting sense of sisterhood which has blossomed between our two communities of Cornwall and Kensington. Onen hag oll!
