CLEAR is a Cornwall-based charity with a mission to help children, young people and adults to heal from emotional trauma and to prevent and reduce its occurrence. We have over 10 years experience of supporting people of all ages affected by sexual and domestic abuse. We provide therapy and counselling; training and professional development; and workshops for schools, community groups and businesses to support and promote emotional wellbeing.
CLEAR is registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and our Children's Therapy Service is the only one in Cornwall to be accredited by BACP. Our accredited training offer includes our bespoke Level 5 post-qualifying diploma in working therapeutically with children and young people (CPCAB accredited). L3 Safeguarding (NUCO accredited), Connect 5 (RSPH accredited) and a Peer Support Programme (ASDAN accredited)
We have a core team of employed staff with most of our therapy and counselling undertaken by fully qualified sessional staff, all of whom are registered with a professional body. Types of therapy include art, music, drama and play therapy, trauma-focused CBT, EMDR, person-centred counselling.
We measure our impact using nationally recognised Routine Outcome Measures (ROMs) that can be benchmarked against other services. We are proud to partner with the University of Plymouth and the University of Exeter on bespoke evaluation projects.
CLEAR is a Disability Confident Committed employer and a Real Living Wage Employer.
