Finance Manager

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to ensure the financial stability and growth of the company while providing strategic insights to support business decisions.

You'll inform and influence other department leads to create a culture of financial accountability that is in line with our BCorp status, while being a force for good, embedding Cornish Gems’ environmental, social and community responsibility goals across the business.

Key Tasks

  • Oversee preparation of payroll and transactional processes.
  • Submission of relevant information to HMRC within deadlines.
  • Maintain and charge Cornish Gems’ holdings, property, and owner accounts, verifying trial balances and production of statements on the proprietary Property Management System.
  • Contribute to the annual financial planning process and monthly and quarterly monitoring.
  • Ensure all colleagues are trained and compliant in the use of all financial systems and processes.
  • Ensures compliance with all Cornish Gems’ policies, including health and safety and data protection across the department.
  • Contribute as a member of the leadership team to the development, implementation and delivery of strategic plans.
  • Developing and managing the organisation's budget, forecasting future financial performance, and analysing financial data to support decision-making.
  • Preparing accurate financial reports, statements, and documentation to provide insights into the company’s financial health and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Overseeing cash flow to ensure the organisation can meet its obligations and invest in growth opportunities.
  • Identifying financial risks and plan strategies with the senior leadership team to mitigate those risks.
  • Collaborating with senior management to develop long-term financial strategies that align with the organisation's overall objectives.

Key Knowledge

  • AAT Level 4 qualified or QBE (required)
  • ACCA, ACA , CIMA qualified or part qualified (desirable)
  • Strong IT skills, including advanced knowledge of spreadsheet software and experience using Mac OS.
  • Extensive experience and understanding of the Xero accounting package, including reporting functionality.
  • UK Payroll and VAT Legislation.
